I'm gone.
I guess this is just another "I'm leaving the group message", I know I
know. But I'm not complaining that the group sucks and that it's best days are behind us. Also I don't expect anyone to care the slightest bit that I'm leaving. I don't post all that much and I don't think I've said anything all that profound yet. I guess the reason I'm taking off is because I decided a week or so ago that I wanted to take up breakdancing. I started reading up on it on the internet. I learned that a lot of breakers are self taught and that the two things experienced breakers will often tell newbies are "Figure it out yourself like I did" and "Make up your own style, don't bite other people". And I think that's what I need to do on my road to being a PUA or whatever. So I think I'm gonna take the next six months off or so from reading anything new on ASF or from pickupguide etc. I'm just gonna throw myself out into the world, fend for myself, and hopefully develop my own style in the end. I'm gonna try to figure things out for myself instead of asking for help over every little detail. ....oh, that breakdancing analogy doesn't hold up perfectly at all. Newbie breakers get together with other newbies and learn from each other together, they also occasionally ask the experts for pointers...just like this newsgroup, but whatever, I still think I need to fend for myself a bit and figure things on my own. Maybe some other people here could benefit from doing the same thing? While I haven't been an angel in the past myself and while others may still resent me from last year's melt down I had here, nevertheless I'm disappointed in what this group has become. RodTheGod, a name I used here in the past exploded when a person in this group used anti-Semitic remarks that were not intentional at the time but nevertheless prompted others to copy those actions of which triggered an angry response by me. I'm not going to make the same mistake again in my use of venting and saying what's on my mind. I'll post this respectfully and with calmness. The point is, this group has sunk to an all time low. The Kevin Zeger thread is a disgrace.... what's more a disgrace is that people are responding to trolls who thrive on your reactions and YES you are feeding the trolls in this group, BIG TIME. What's more shocking is that some respected posters in this group while speaking out against it are just as bad and provoking more of the same. Without mention of any names. One contributor to this group responded with a sexual suggestion by blocking out a couple of letters to an offensive word he used in his reply regarding this teen idol of what he alluded a poster can do while looking at the picture of his feet. This is clearly against the charter and even if it isn't, it's still vile, vulgar and disgraceful. It seems more and more people are interested in sexual references and thoughts rather than what should be discussed in this group and that is TALENT! Unfortunately this is about the only newsgroup on the internet that caters to information regarding teen idols, their projects, their listings for movies and tv appearances and what I would hope to see .... but no longer see much of this and that is posts regarding these teens that have to do with their acting not their physical attributes. How Sad and how irresponsible. I can't say I won't read this group anymore because I do depend on the listings that are listed here as well as the far in between and fewer topics of what once made this a great group. Too bad that posts can't be deleted here or certain people can't be banned by name or box. WebTV has their own private newsgroups that are identical to these groups on the internet like this one. The big difference is that the groups are restricted to only WebTV users and outsiders on other systems can't post in our groups. We also have CLUB Newsgroups now where people can open up their own groups without putting it to a vote and where the owner of that group can either ban a person by name or box (including all six user names that WebTV allows per box per subscriber) We are also not subjected to spam like this group and any other group outside of the WebTV groups... meaning that if we post within our own newsgroups only available to WebTV subscribers.... that any spam would be from another WebTV subscriber and that WebTV WOULD TAKE ACTION by warning that person not to do this. It has also come down to this nic name and all the other nic names I have used in this group by getting spammed by abusers of this source which only adds to my frustration with posting on here and other groups I love such as the Charlie Chaplin, Jerry Lewis and Muscular Dystrophy newsgroups. I must block this nic name now when I don't post to avoid spam. It's just not worth it and perhaps some of the WebTV posters who participate in this group might opt to starting a teen idol group that would only be available to WebTV Subscribers. I have my own newsgroup on WebTV under a different nic name I use but won't use here as to avoid the spam I mention above. Perhaps I might add another newsgroup and start one on teen idols or hopefully another person on WebTV might do this. I can no longer post here as to the spam and especially the crap that now takes up the majority of this newsgroup. I'm sure teen idols read this group as this newsgroup is on the internet and not just on WebTV. I'm sure many of the people we talk about here read this group and I feel bad for them being subjected to sexual remarks, abusive posts and cruel and lewd remarks that are uncalled for and that violate them. Hopefully some of you will see my point of which I tried to make without resorting to the way I have done in the past when I was angered by the anti Jewish remarks that were directed at me after I spoke out on something that I disagreed with but used the wrong way in going about it. I would like to see this group get back on target not just for myself but for the teen idols that are hurt by the actions many of you are either directing towards them or feeding the trolls with by your equally abusive responses. Although I haven't posted in this newsgroup very much like I have in the past, this will be my last post in this newsgroup and I will continue to get my information on listings here and try to avoid the idiotic and abusive posts which have turned this newsgroup into a freak show.
